Boston School Leaders See 11.5% Pay Increase

Boston school leaders will see an 11.5% raise covering a period dating from Sept. 1, 2020, and running through the end of the 2023–24 school year, as part of a new memorandum of agreement between the Boston Association for School Administrators and Supervisors (BASAS), AFSA Local 6, and the Boston School Department.

As part of the deal, BASAS members will receive retroactive pay and maintain all their seniority rights for the duration of the agreement.

“I extend my appreciation to our negotiation team for a job well done. Negotiations were long and arduous and could not have culminated in an agreement without the steadfast support of every member,” said BASAS President Dominic Sacchetti. “I also want to extend my personal thanks to Mayor Wu and Lou Mandarini, senior adviser for labor, whose energetic leadership was key in bringing this agreement to fruition. We are grateful for his willingness to listen and his wisdom in recognizing the importance of a fair agreement."

This agreement remains subject to ratification—first by the membership, and then by the school committee.
