AFSA has submitted three major resolutions to the upcoming AFL-CIO Convention in Minneapolis this June, urging organized labor to take a stronger national stand on school safety, gun violence prevention, workplace protections, and civic education.

Retroactive pay is on the way for members of AFSA Local 6, the Boston Association of School Administrators & Supervisors (BASAS).

The announcement came during the union’s April 29 membership meeting, where leaders confirmed that eligible members will see retroactive payments reflected in their paychecks on Friday, May 8. The payments apply to current BASAS members as well as those who have since moved into other district positions.

Five exceptional students are beginning their college journeys with support from the American Federation of School Administrators (AFSA), which has awarded them the 2026 Diann Woodard Scholarship.
Some students have lost their mother, while others live apart from her due to divorce, incarceration, military deployment, or other complex circumstances.
